The Real Me
Being our best

Why would I want to submit myself to living by God's rules, whatever they are? God gave me a mind of my own. I can decide for myself.

Living God's way isn't living by rules; it's living by listening to God.

And living by listening to God is what we were made for, so it's the only thing that we have the potential to do really well. It's the only thing that actually satisfies us.

Most of us are living like fish out of water. We flail about, gasping for satisfaction and not finding it.

We know something is wrong, but all we see around us is other people doing what we're doing, so we either try harder to improve our lives or resign ourselves to living with discontentment.

What we need to do is get back in the water. We need to make a better choice than we have been making.

We weren't designed to live the way we are: on our own, without God. He's what's missing from our lives.

God, being the source of all truth and all creation, has endless things for us to discover and enjoy.

We've been living without Him for so long, that we've come to believe that we would drown in the water.

We've come to believe that we would lose our individuality, our identity. The opposite is true.

Only in God's presence can we find the freedom to be ourselves as we were intended to be.

God has no interest in diminishing our individuality. He created us each as unique individuals. That's His design for us.

When we separate ourselves from God, from the source of our uniqueness, we lose the freedom to be our best.

Our best requires relationship with God.
